ATTENDANCE & PRACTICE
1. Band is a class for which credit for graduation is offered for high school students. Each student is expected to work on a daily basis to develop individual performance and musical skills. ALL rehearsals are, therefore, imperative.
2. Playing an instrument is a physically demanding and rigorous activity that must be maintained through consistent practice at home.
3. A student’s performance affects the entire group. We rehearse together and perform together. An absence from a performance hurts all of the other band member’s performance. Scheduled performances are required.
PERFORMANCE ABSENCE PROCEDURES
1. Emergency circumstances will be handled on an individual basis.
2. Students excused from a performance will be required to complete a make-up assignment.
